Classes Description

Classical Pilates

Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates and placed emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance. The classical approach teaches the exercises as closely as possible to Joseph Pilates original work modifications will be provided to adapt to different experience level so do not worried that you will not be able to do all the exercises.

Hatha Yoga

It is a practice of moving into energistic balance amid the consistency of change in our lives. It is a balance of movements (asanas) that are energizing (the 'ha' in Hatha) and relaxing (the 'tha' in Hatha). This makes Hatha yoga a great practice for everyone. It is a mind-body practice, moving through each pose in harmony with your breathe, which leaves one feeling invigorated yet calm. 
Yin Yoga
It is a slower and more meditative form of yoga practice, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Because you’re holding poses for a longer period of time than you would in other traditional types of yoga, yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts.
Functional Training
Functional class is an integration of different body movements that helps to improve your daily lives by strengthening each and every muscles in our body.  It includes basic movements  of squatting/Reaching/Pulling/Pushing and lifting of the entire body.  When your body is able to move in sync and establish a balance and move easily, functional exercises will also assist in" Fat Burning"  even without exercising afterwards.

What to Wear & Bring to Each Class

- The best streaming experience is on desktop/laptop/projector and will be through our secured streaming platform
- Please wear sports attire or loose/comfortable clothing. No shoes or socks are required for Yoga/Pilates and sports shoes/trainers for functional training
- Bring your mat and block (optional).
- Specific to Yin Yoga, you should ideally bring a thick towel, other than your mat and block (optional).
- Specific to functional training, you should have some elastic/resistance bands and also a pair of dumbells 2.5kg or 3kg (optional)

Pilates Instructor: Ferlynn Soo

Ferlynn completed her undergraduate studies in Physiotherapy in the United Kingdom in 2008. Since graduating, she worked in the United Kingdom and went on to pursue her postgraduate Masters Degree in 2011. She then relocated to United Arab Emirates for work in 2012 and subsequently completed a Doctoral Degree from the United States in 2017.

Ferlynn specialises in chronic pain management and postural/movement dysfunction and is holistic in her approach to rehabilitation and wellness. Her consultation will provide a comprehensive solution to the cause(s) of your injuries/disabilities as well as a realistic self-management plan to optimise health and well-being.

Ferlynn is incredibly passionate about health and wellness and is also a Pilates instructor. She enjoys regular fitness training and promotes health and wellness to help people stay healthy, improve their health or reach their personal health goals. She will be also teaching online private and group Pilates classes. 

Ferlynn believes in pro bono services as a way to provide health education and services to reach out to the wider community to lead a physically healthier and happier life. She volunteers as a clinical director for the Special Olympics team in the United Arab Emirates and has participated in Special Olympics MENA games in 2018 and the World Games in 2019.

Yoga Instructor: Jacquelyn Sit

Jacquelyn is a RYS-200 certified Yoga instructor, as well as a Kids Yoga and Pre-Natal Yoga instructor.

A yoga practitioner for 20 years, she has personally felt the positive changes in her body and energy after the first few regular practices and has been practicing since then and now she wants to share these benefits to all and spreading the message that you do not need to be flexible to do yoga, it is for everyone.

She has taught yoga in various events and in private sessions with adults since 2018. Her yoga classes for adults covers different types of Yoga for all levels. She primarily focuses on Hatha and Yin yoga with conscious breathing techniques for adults.

She has a passion in making every yoga class work for every individual in her virtual class and you will experience a balance of strengthening and flexibility plus a healthy dose of breathing and laughter. To that end, she has also taken a Functional Anatomy course to better guide her students through every yoga posture for optimal benefit.

She is currently working towards being a certified Pilates instructor and has completed a certified course on Pilates for Injuries & Pathologies.

Functional Training Instructor: Maggie Chen

Maggie has been in the Fitness Industry for over 14 years working in different hotel gyms with work experiences in Singapore, Hong Kong, Maldives, Australia and United Arab Emirates. She is a qualified Sports Therapist and went on to also complete a  Diploma of Fitness - Human Performance Centre in Australia.

Maggie is motivated to learn from the best in the fitness industries and is also internationally certified as Lesmills body pump and body combat instructor. She specializes in all areas of functional training, strength and conditioning, fat loss and aerobics training. 

With her wide array of fitness Industry, she can help you achieve your goals and bring it to the next level with a personalised and innovative approach. Her group classes are known to be fun, energising as well as challenging!
